The White Flower is proud to be the only San Diego bridal boutique to offer full-service on site alterations for brides. We truly have you taken care of from dress shopping to beautifully walking down the aisle. Our expert alterations team will perfectly tailor your dress and have it fitting you like a glove!

We also accept brides who purchased their wedding dresses from other bridal boutiques, as well as brides who are wearing a family heirloom piece. Call us to set up an appointment. For the initial alterations appointment, please bring your wedding day shoes and expect the appointment to last around an hour. Standard alterations typically run $900 - $1200 depending upon the scope of the work.

Additionally, we offer wedding dress steaming, cleaning, preservation, and restoration services for all brides regardless of where you found your gown.

In addition to altering wedding dresses, we also offer alterations services for bridesmaids. Typical alterations for bridesmaid dresses range from $150 to $300 depending on the amount of work needed to tailor the gown. Often bridesmaids alterations will consist of a hem to shorten the dress and adjustments to the sides, straps, and/or cups to get the dress fitting perfectly for the wedding day.

We recommend bridesmaids schedule their first alterations appointment about 4 weeks before the wedding.

We also provide alterations services to the mother of the bride or groom. Typical alterations costs for mother of the bride and mother of the groom dresses range from $150 to $300 depending on the amount of work needed to tailor the gown.

Preparing for Alterations

• Schedule your first fitting to begin 6-8 weeks before your date. This gives our alterations team plenty of time to perfect your dress.

• Bring your wedding day shoes to all of your fittings to ensure your hem is perfect for your dress.

• Bring any undergarments (spanx, bra, etc) that you will be wearing with your dress.

• Bring your accessories so that you can see your whole, completed bridal look. Don’t have any? You can shop our veils, hair accessories, and shoes after your fitting.

With nearly 40 years of experience in bridal alterations, our head seamstress, Mary, will instantly put you at ease. She has been working with our brides from the day we opened the boutique and knows our dresses and designers inside and out.

The alterations team members are friendly, easy to talk to, and exceptionally skilled. Rest assured, your dress will be stunning! Whether you need simply a hem and a bustle or major customizations such as adding sleeves or significantly raising or lowering a neckline, we have you covered!
